Support an exceptional cooking class experience at every class by acting as an extension of the instructor, reinforcing and supporting the techniques being presented in class. Deliver HERO Selling behaviors. Provide a warm, friendly environment. Smile and greet customers who enter the store. Provide excellent customer service and ensure customer service standards are met. Resolve customer problems or complaints by determining optimal solutions in a timely manner. Support the Resident Chef in increasing cooking class and retail sales by highlighting products and upcoming classes before, during and after classes. Assist with shopping for ingredients for classes. Model and consistently follow all Sur La Table policies and procedures, including but not limited to, Cooking School and Retail Operations, HR Practices and Critical Controls. Assist with the class preparation and execution as needed or directed by instructor. Wash dishes, clean kitchen and prep kitchen for next class. Accurately record time worked according to SLT policy. Understand and share product assortment and differentiating qualities of similar products in each category (bakeware, cooks’ tools, cutlery, cookware and coffee/electrics). Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills with employees, customers, field management and corporate office. May handle, serve, and pour liquor, wine and beer and/or mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water and etc. in order to prepare cocktails and other drinks. Additional responsibilities as assigned by Resident Chef.
