Basic Function and Scope of Responsibility

  • This position is very important to the image and customer service goals of the YMCA
  • Provides information and services to individuals in person or over the phone
  • Insures that those entering the facility are there for specific business or information

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greets callers in a pleasant manner; directs them to proper location/person
  • Provides information over the phone, takes clear written messages or provides caller with individual’s voice mail
  • Assists with administrative tasks
  • Prepares outgoing mail, sorts and distributes incoming mail
  • Provides assistance with basic data entry
  • Handles incidental clerical work
  • Maintains office supplies
  • Duplicates and distributes materials
  • Filing
  • Other duties as required

Education, Certification, Skills, and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to provide clear and concise information to visitors and callers
  • Must be able to handle more than one thing at a time
  • Should have basic PC skills for basic data entry functions
  • Excellent customer servcice skills

YMCA Leadership Certification

  • Position requires ongoing progress towards Leader Certification

Working Conditions

  • Sitting for long periods of time
